What’s New

Fire Station

Halfway’s new Fire Station is being funded by a Community Development Block Grant for which the city is a fiscal sponsor. Construction is being completed by Smokey Creek Barn Company. The new fire station is larger, will provide room for larger fire fighting equipment, will feature training and conference rooms, and will eventually feature a designated helipad, relieving the school from being the city’s landing zone.

Sewer Scoping

The City will be checking sewer segments using a camera for the next couple of weeks. We will be inserting the camera from one manhole to the next and working downstream to look for leaks. Once each sewer segment has been checked, it will be flushed and plugged to check the following segment. This process should not affect any normal sewer operations, however you will notice sections of streets blocked off as work is completed. Estimated project duration is the first half of May.

"Movies In The Park" is coming to Halfway on Thursday August 15th. Starts at dusk. (About 8pm) Please start to spread the word and we will put it together.

This year Halfway Movies in the Park is sponsored by Baker County Safe Communities Coalition and the Baker County Chapter of Safe Families for Children.

And thank you to The Main Place for allowing us to use their park.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks.
